On Saturday, 11 April 2026, Honoris Educational Network proudly hosted the JCI Mauritius Public Speaking Championship, organised by JCI Curepipe. As sponsor and venue partner, we were honoured to welcome dynamic young leaders from across Mauritius to our campus. The event brought together participants from different local chapters, united by a shared commitment to leadership, growth, and service. It also reflected the strong alignment between Honoris and JCI in empowering youth through meaningful platforms that build confidence and encourage active citizenship.
A Platform for Confident Voices
The championship provided participants with an opportunity to step forward and express their ideas with clarity and conviction. Public speaking remains a powerful skill that shapes leaders and drives impact, and each participant demonstrated courage by choosing to be seen and heard. The level of preparation and passion on display highlighted the importance of creating spaces where young individuals can develop their voice. At Honoris, we recognise that such experiences go beyond competition, they contribute to personal development and help build the confidence needed to navigate professional and social environments.
A Conversation on Mauritius’ Future
This year’s theme, “From Paradise to Responsibility: Is Mauritius Ready for a Sustainable Future?”, inspired thoughtful and engaging speeches. Participants explored the balance between preserving the island’s natural beauty and embracing sustainable progress. The diversity of perspectives shared on stage reflected a deep awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing Mauritius today. These conversations are essential, as they encourage critical thinking and position young leaders as active contributors to shaping for a more responsible and sustainable future for the country.
Leadership, Partnership and Impact
A highlight of the event was the participation of our Director, Tasneem Jaumally, who served as a jury member. Her involvement reinforced Honoris’ commitment to supporting initiatives that promote leadership and excellence. This collaboration with JCI Curepipe demonstrates the value of partnerships in creating impactful opportunities for youth. Even in 2026, the principle remains true that teamwork drives success. Honoris Educational Network remains dedicated to fostering environments where talent is nurtured, and future leaders are inspired to make a difference.
