Many Honoris learners balance their studies with full-time work and family responsibilities. Some of them took time away from work to visit V Kanhye Moringa Health Foods Ltd, a Mauritian SME specializing in moringa (Brède Mouroum) infusions and wellness products.

The visit formed part of Honoris’ employability initiatives, providing learners with a first-hand look at the entrepreneurial journey behind a successful local business. Beyond understanding the final product, learners explored the processes, decisions and strategies involved in transforming a locally grown plant into a recognized wellness brand. It helps learners see how the concepts they study apply inside a real Mauritian business.

Hosted by Vinay Kanhye, Director at V Kanhye Moringa Health Foods Ltd, the visit offered valuable insight into every stage of the business operation. Learners discovered how locally sourced moringa is transformed into premium wellness products while gaining an appreciation for the importance of sourcing, production, quality assurance, packaging, branding, distribution and customer engagement.

The experience also reinforced key business concepts studied in the classroom, including entrepreneurship, product life cycle, supply chain management, and market positioning. Learners explored how identifying a receptive market and establishing a presence as a first mover can create opportunities for innovation and long-term business growth.

Reflecting on the significance of the visit, Honoris Educational Network Managing Director Tasneem Jaumally highlighted the value of exposing learners to authentic business environments.

“It showed our learners that entrepreneurship is not only about having an idea. It is also about understanding the product, the process, and the market.”

Adding to the experience, Vinay Kanhye shared his entrepreneurial journey, offering learners an honest perspective on both the opportunities and challenges of building a business. He spoke candidly about the resilience, patience, and consistency required to navigate setbacks, adapt to changing market conditions, and sustain long-term growth.

For learners who are already in the workplace, the value of the visit was not only academic. It helped them look at business from a wider angle, from product development and operations to branding, customer needs, and long-term decision-making.

Industry engagement remains a cornerstone of the Honoris Educational Network learning experience. Through initiatives such as company visits, employer engagement and practical exposure, Honoris continues to equip learners with the knowledge, professional insights and workplace skills needed to thrive in an evolving business landscape.

Honoris Educational Network extends its sincere appreciation to Vinay Kanhye and the team at V Kanhye Moringa Health Foods Ltd for warmly welcoming our learners and sharing their expertise. Their openness and willingness to provide an authentic behind-the-scenes look at building a successful Mauritian enterprise made the visit both insightful and inspiring.
